The Charismatic Christians Prophesying Trump's Victory (And Not Backing Down)

As President Donald Trump continues to defy calls to concede the election, it’s possible that he’s leaning on a cadre of modern-day “prophets” for support.
Led by his own pastor, Paula White, and a coterie of Pentecostal and charismatic leaders around the country, this is a movement that believes that apostles and prophets exist today, just like in biblical times.
Some in this movement prophesied Trump’s 2016 election well before the fact and they firmly believe God has ordained a second term for the incumbent president.
“It seems that Trump and his handlers are watching this scene pretty closely,” said Erin Prophet, an assistant religion professor at the University of Florida who studies prophetic movements. “Many people believe these prophecies are meant to be fulfilled, and if they are not, they will lose faith.”
There are many of these prophets, ranging from the famous ones (televangelist Pat Robertson who has predicted Trump will be re-elected) to the unknown-but-offbeat ones like the pink-haired Kat Kerr of Jacksonville, Fla. Back in 2018, she said that not only would Trump have two terms, but so would Vice President Mike Pence when he will run for president, as will Pence’s running mate.
“For 24 years,” she said, “we will have God in that White House.”
Currently, the possibility of a Republican president is looking dimmer and dimmer as election results show President-Elect Joe Biden eking out a victory even in traditionally GOP states such as Arizona and Georgia.
But these modern-day prophets aren’t taking no for an answer. As Pentecostal (also called charismatic) Christians, part of the world’s fastest-growing form of Christianity, these prophets may be providing the spiritual backbone that Trump needs as he remains shuttered in the White House.
There are about 66 million Pentecostal or charismatic Christians in the U.S, according to Holly Pivec, co-author of a 2014 book “A New Apostolic Reformation? A Biblical Response to a Worldwide Movement.” Most are Protestant evangelicals, and to a lesser degree, Catholics, especially Latinos.
As proof of their authenticity, they point to past prophecies that have come to pass. Mark Taylor, the Orlando-based writer of the book “The Trump Prophecies,” said in October 2015 that not only would Trump be elected, he would get to appoint three Supreme Court justices. Most presidents only get one such pick per term, so three seemed quite a stretch at the time.
Trump’s third nominee, Amy Coney Barrett, had barely taken her place on the U.S. Supreme Court bench when Trump got narrowly defeated on Nov. 3. Even though former Vice President Joe Biden has been declared the winner, White, 54, is having nightly prayer meetings at her Apopka, Fla., City of Destiny church to “declare” Trump’s victory. A video, captured by RightWingWatch, of her chanting half in English and half in tongues as she called in angels from Africa and South America to give Trump victory got so many jibes that her ministry took it off her website.
She is still holding out for a Trump win. On Nov. 12, she prayed for “a bold spiritual army in America” to restore Trump’s victory via prayer.
“Prophecy is a battle,” she said. “It is a weapon (God has) given us in battle.”

Arguably America’s most powerful female religious figure, White is not alone. Soon after the election, a statement on the Christian Broadcasting Network, founded by Robertson, now 90, stated “it’s not over” and added that “many tried and true Christians” thought they’d heard God tell them Trump would win a second term.
They included Kris Vallotton, 65, the resident prophet at the Redding, Calif., mega-congregation Bethel Church and Jeremiah Johnson, a Lakeland, Fla., evangelist who prophesied that Trump would be elected by the help of praying baby boomers. After some blowback headed his way after the election, he defiantly posted the following post on Facebook on Nov. 7:
“While we wait until January to determine our next US President, observe the stunning blindness and hypocrisy in the body of Christ. Christians who voted for the shedding of innocent blood, the Equality Act, and anti-Israel legislation (ALL things God HATES) are now picking up stones to persecute prophets who supposedly missed it.”
Steve Schultz, founder of the prophetic website Elijah List, which has a YouTube broadcast called Elijah Streams, commented Nov. 10 that interest in the prophetic is so high right now, he’s getting 100,000 views for some of his broadcasts.
“The prophets aren’t backing off what they prophesied,” he said on the air. “They’ve known it, they’ve said it; they are not backing off.”
One such individual is Charlie Shamp, 38, a North Carolina evangelist who — unusual even for this movement — has affixed the title of “Prophet” before his name. Interviewed on Nov. 10 by Schultz, he said his fellow prophets had called the election correctly despite what the headlines say.
“When you have tested prophets that have got numerous prophetic words over the years correct, you begin to question the narrative that is presented to us and stop questioning whether the prophets got it right or not,” he said. “When we have the church believing the media more than the prophets, there needs to be a discernment coming back to the body of Christ after four years of lies from the media.”

Shamp has prophesied that a sudden turnaround will happen in Pennsylvania and told Schultz that God will post a double rainbow around the White House as a sign. Without mentioning names, he took a shot at some prophets who had backed down from their predictions of a Trump victory.
“Those who do not have a spirit of discernment, they are backing down but we’re not backing down,” he said. Noting that he had predicted two years ago that a “red tide” would sweep the 2018 elections (it didn’t), he excused his mistake by saying God had intended for that to happen, but “something not right in the American election system” had stymied the divine will. At the time, Shamp apologized for his mistake.
“I took a hit for that and I said, you know what – I am going to bow down,” he remembered. “But I do not bow down anymore. There were too many inconsistencies that happened on Tuesday; too many things that, if you have eyes to see and ears to hear, church, you know that something was not right.”
Shamp’s criticism of prophets who are “backing down” may have referred to Vallotton, who apologized on Instagram after the election for prophesying a Trump victory.
“I was completely wrong,” Vallotton said in a video. He continued:
“I take full responsibility for being wrong. There was no excuse for it. I think it doesn’t make me a false prophet, but it does actually create a credibility gap. A lot of people trust me; trust my ministry. I want to say I am very sorry to everyone who put their trust in me. There was this major, major mistake.
“I want to say I’m sorry and I want to look into the reasons why there was a disconnection there in what I heard. I have always believed that when you make a public declaration; that if you get it wrong, you have to make a public apology.”

Pushback within the movement was swift, and Vallotton quickly reversed himself, removing the video from his account. In a second video, he said he had gotten “thousands” of responses saying he had apologized too soon; that he was naively believing the media or that he was a coward.
Pivec said Vallotton’s quasi-confession was significant because of his prominence in the movement. Vallotton has not only has written three books on prophecy, he is Bethel’s chief prophetic voice.
In charismatic circles, “if you have the gift of prophecy,” Pivec said, “you can make mistakes and that doesn’t make you a false prophet. But someone like Vallotton says they not only have the gift or prophecy, he has the office of prophet. And in the office, you are claiming your words are authoritative and must be obeyed.”
The Old Testament deals with wrong prophecies by saying to either ignore the prophet in the future (Deut. 18:22) or to stone them if they tell believers to worship other gods (Deut. 13: 1-11).
“The idea is that if you have the office or prophet, you shouldn’t miss it much,” she said. “When prophets in this movement miss, they will spiritualize the prophecies to say President Trump may have not won in a literal sense but there was a spiritual victory. Or they can say he did win it, but it was stolen from him. They are always able explain it away. What Kris Vallotton did surprised me a little bit. But then he pulled back.”
Erin Prophet believes that when Biden is inaugurated on Jan. 20, today’s prophets will reframe their predictions, similar to what Seventh-day Adventists did when Christ did not return on Oct. 22, 1844, as their prophets had promised he would.
“They are trying to preserve their relevance and encourage people to not give up,” she said. “Some will go to their graves trying to convince people the Lord’s plan is in effect.”
Some in the prophetic movement believe the presidency will be restored to Trump through the Supreme Court in a replay of Bush v. Gore, but only if American Christians intercede in prayer.
“The justice scale is resting in the center, the heart of the nation,” said Shamp. “It’s either going to go one way or the other way. The only deciding factor that is going to change this moment in history is the church. The church has to rise take hold of the prophetic word, decree it and do not let go of it.”

The false prophets are fulfilling Jesus prophesy which states that in the last days false prophets shall rise. Some will profess that they preached and prophesied in his name. He will say depart from me worker of iniquity, I know you not. Many were judging Biden and Kamala's faith. Many prophecied that Christians would be persecuted for what they believe about Jesus and righteousness.
Jesus said that we are to love are neighbor as we love ourselves and to love God with all of our hearts, mind, and soul. God looks upon the heart. Trump deceived many and continued to lie about the outcome of the election, which led to rioting and the uprising of hate groups. There is no big sin or little sin in God's eyes, sin is sin.God is the judge and he found Trump's heart to be filled with darkness that he failed to acknowledge and repent. God moved him and exalted Biden. Abortion and Same Sex marriage has already been judged by God. Jesus said if you are going to be righteous be righteous, if unrighteous be unrighteous, I am coming soon. Wouldn't it be ironic and ashamed of the false prophets are the ones that will be persecuting the true Christians to justify their lies and false prophesied. I believe in true prophets, they are the mouthpiece of God, the spread love and the gospel of Jesus Christ, they build up the body of Christ and esteem their brother higher than themselves. God sets up authority and he cast it down. I you prophesied falsely, repent and seek to draw closer to the Lord to truly hear from him. He is waiting.
Prophets of God do not apologize nor are prophesies they prophesy are wrong. Every single prophet of God that prophesied in the name of the LORD was 100% correct to the letter. All of these individuals that falsely prophesied simply showed what they all are...false prophets. By the way, the fact that Trump lost did not convince me, it was their doctrine.

It's still not over people. you're judging prophets by your clocks, not God's
Well, everyone makes mistakes, I know I make a lot. That doesn’t make me a false Christian anymore than an incorrect prophecy makes a prophet a false prophet. It’s unfortunate but Christians are really good at killing they’re own. No matter who is president, the guy you want or didn’t want, we should honor and pray for that person, like Daniel the prophet did. Daniel served wicked kings and prayed for all of them and honored them and because of that he had influence in they’re lives and the decisions they made. Maybe the book of Daniel is a word for this season. I do know that we as Christians need to take it easy with fellow Christian leaders who we don’t even know.
what is evident, is no one wants to face up to the fact that a 12year old boy got to live out his wildest fantasy and it turned out badly.
And no one is willing to take responsibility for screwing up so badly.

He created a complex convoluted picture of a dangerous underground swap full of evil monsters and held you spellbound as he dispatched the terrors.

And in his real life you'd get about as much of his attention as a piece of dog shit you he stepped on.
You created Donald Trump.
He responded to your response to his patter.
He played you rally after rally, until he performed with magnificence and splendor, and you ate it up.

"White House" prophets--and their deluded followers--are an embarrassment to the (true) Body of Christ. These kooks are smoke in the eyes of people who actually hear their Shepherd's voice, and follow him. It's now January 14, 2021. Were there any "prophets" who prophesied the Capitol insurrection? Did they condemn it, and their "leader?" Not a chance. Just like their "anointed" "Christian" Trump--They double down on their lies and delusions. Only in the USA. You won't find weak; undisciplined; undiscerning believers like this in China/India/Mid-East/Africa. Those dear brothers and sisters would give an eye for just a few verses of precious scripture. We have more Bibles in our homes than chairs...A whole Bible would be worth more than its weight in gold to them. These humble people gladly go to prison for their Savior. They willingly give up their lives for him. They endure hideously painful; brutal torture for him. They don't have a dollar between them. Meanwhile; we prattle on w/ false prophesies; "Name it and claim it;" "God wants you rich/healed/etc." What a condemnation for what passes as "Christianity" in the USA. No wonder the world looks on with scorn, and ridicule. Their predictable answer to all of the deserved condemnation? "We're being persecuted." Puleeze. Just shut up, and don't inflict any more damage to the Body of Christ.
I am glad this has happened these false prophets have been deceiving the church for years I hope this brings them all to repentance, and they return to the word and stop claiming that God is giving them new revelations
Actually there were no Seventh-day Adventists in 1844; that church organized in 1863, many of whom were Millerites. The people who were waiting for Jesus to come in 1844 were from many denominations--Baptists, Methodists, Congregationalists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Dutch Reformed, Quakers and others. (They were considered "Adventists" because they believed in the Second Advent of Jesus. It was not an organized church). And actually this was a world-wide movement aspeople started understanding the Bible prophecy of the sanctuary being cleansed in Daniel 8:14.
They thought the "sanctuary" in that Dan. 8:14 was talking about the earth. But instead of the earth being cleansed, it was actually the heavenly sanctuary that was being cleansed (for example, see Leviticus 16:30, 33). The earthly sanctuary of the Jews was actually a figure of the heavenly sanctuary (see Hebrews). The Day of Atonement was about the cleansing the earthly Jewish Sanctuary prefiguring the cleansing of God's heavenly Sanctuary.

Every Christian must wake up to the abuse of prophetic "anointings" being lifted up in the church. Many are nothing more that people politics and idols being lifted up. God does have prophets in many places but many true prophets are ignored and pushed out because they tell the truth that those in churchianity refused to hear. So here's the acid test on how to discern false prophets: A false prophet CAN and often tells the truth; but a true prophet CAN'T lie.
Here's my support from the Bible:
Balaam told the TRUTH; and he even heard from God, but because his heart was in the wrong place he still helped out Israel's enemy by telling the King (of the enemy) how to get Israel to backslide. That was not in God's interest. God refused to let this prophet tell a lie, but he still went down in Biblical history as the worst prophet EVER.
False prophets are deluded. Look at the false prophets in Elijah's day. They jumped and danced around and even cut their own bodies because they believed a lie! But Elijah's word came true. And, even the true prophets of all the Bible never dared put their own words into God's mouth.
Finally, to support my point, look at Jesus. When he entered into Jerusalem on a donkey, he told his disciples to go get a donkey in such and such place and what does that scripture further say? "So that the words of the prophet may come true."
So God directs his word and when it's time for the church to wake up and discern between those who are false and those who are true then the church must awaken. True prophets don't need to back walk it out after their words don't come true because Jesus backs their words up by making it come true. By back walking it out, I mean they don't need to put it on the people for their lack of praying it out.
I dont know if these prophets believe a word they are saying or not but they are turning people off of God and the church. People seeking God and the truth during this time have been let down by these prophecies. I have had people tell me already that they dont believe in prayer any more and they are very confused about what has just happened.
Well, Biden's presidency is a done deal after today (January 7). These so called prophets are killing the body of Christ and doing severe damage to the witness of those of us who follow Jesus. The reason what they have done is so bad is because most (if not all) of these false prophets benefit greatly when they get their predictions right. They sale more books, get more followers, more people will give them money and more people will come to their churches. So, the consequence for getting it wrong should be just as costly. They should step down, repent, and apologize to their flock and the public in a display of humility. However, what will happen is they will change their previous rhetoric and weasel their way out of it somehow. This way they can win even though they lost. For them they must lie or con their followers into thinking that they go it right. They must reap what they sow because of their false prophecy.

What century are these yahoos living in? Pentecostalism is a SECT like all the other invented up in late XIX and early XX century USA. In this case Asuza Street in 1910. It's all emotional rantings and gibberish mumbling because it has no base and no substance. Then they're shocked their so called "prophets" failed. Of course it was a LIE cooked up in their head. These sects are not even genuine Christianity. Who really cares about what they say?
Just keep that nonsense to yourselves and stop making REAL Christians look like idiots.
All of these prophets and their followers could benefit from studying Openess Theology, which points out that choices made by humans cannot be foreknown because they haven't been made yet. Hence, election results cannot be known in advance.
I'm sure many people will find these principles heretical, but, it answers many questions about why prophesies about elections are often wrong. Food for thought!
Open up social media and see what a laughing stock Charismatic Christians have become. I am afraid they are laughing for rightful reasons. May I know why God wants his people to prophesy the election results? Can someone explain how this is going to bring people to Jesus or help spread God's love? Haven't you deepened the division instead of being peacemakers? With your aggressive campaigning for one party, you have allowed the divisive, ugly, and partisan politics to enter the churches?
I am not worried about wrong prophesies as much as the people you lost because of the messages you have been spreading on your social media pages. I would have expected them to come from Foxnews or political people but not from my pastors or preachers. I hope they come out their bubbles, take a step back and see how their actions are affecting Christians and unbelievers. Let it be clear, the future of political parties is not in away related to your Christian faith, belief or salvation period.
I consider myself Pentecostal Christian, I studied prophesying for a long time and I respected many of them highly. But this entire saga with prophets make me so sad, confused and disappointed. If this is the first time, I would have given them grace. But I watched multiple times these prophets getting things wrong, especially with elections. Mitt Romney will win, John McCain will win, red sweep during midterm elections, on and on. And when they get things wrong, they are easily getting away with no consequences. Meanwhile, intentionally or unintentionally they are influencing elections to certain party. Now, they are making people guilty for accepting the reality and allowing Christians to open up to conspiracy theories.
One prophet called Christians who accept Biden's presidency as siding with Ahab. Others called people who accept this election to doubt their salvation. What kind of non-sense is this? They are making it so confusing for Christians to follow Bible. I do not see how they are benefiting the body of Christ! This has to stop!

The people wanted a King, so God gave them a king Trump. Now (yall) the same people that wanted, a king did not want the Judges. So, look who's overturning everyone of Trumps claims the Judges.

What a sad farce. How can "christians" possibly turn the scriptural message of Christ's sacrificial love, for all humanity thru all generations, into prophet obligation to support a political agenda..

The new testament is pretty clear, God desires all persons to have a personal relationship with him, period. All else, personal or social, good or bad, are merely context that highlight importance of a personal choice to follow Christ. He asks the "church" to share the good news and care for victims of greed and poverty which has eternal spiritual significant. Do not demean Christian faith by suggesting we entrust survival of the gospel message to an arbitrary 4 or 8 year presidential term. Jesus lived in time of dreadful governance but he did not seek to share good news thru' political structures. In book of Romans the scripture clearly directs believers to honor government God has put in place and regardless of political environment to share hope of gospel.
God has gifted mankind with desire for "social orderliness" and as human beings, not just christains, we should speak/act in defense of social justice but the universal command for believers is to share good news no matter whether in Romans empire, communist China or US. Scripture says, heaven rejoices over redemption of one soul. I would suggest these current "prophets" would have to significantly manipulate Jesus's priority by suggesting the future success of redemption story was tied to questionable political agendas.
This is the part that baffles my mind. I'm going to play neutral here. Even if there was cheating, so what. Did God not know that? So that part becomes irrelevant. The concerning part for us (those of us who love God and keep His commandments and the testimony of Christ) is that a group of prophets prophesied incorrectly. THAT is the issue. If you, as a believer, are missing that... you might need to fast, pray, read, and regroup.
Lying prophets are going go blame the congregation church for not praying enough when their prophecy does not come true.
This election has abundant evidence there was major cheating in several areas. Republican poll observers were not allowed in the room or placed so far away they could not verify ballots for authenticity.
The voting stopped for about two hours when the dominion voting system software’s algorithms and AI overloaded from too many Trump votes election night to correct it in time. The software was designed for Hugo Chavez and they apparently guaranteed they would be the winner with their built in programs. Four Democrat’s in Congress researched this out and on May 5, 2019 reported the system is not reliable and it “switches votes.” Among these two are my Senator Amy Klobuchar and Aksum Elizabeth Warren.
In the middle of the night in states where Trump was leading votes arrived in paper bags, wastebaskets, garbage cans with votes for Biden.
Live on CNN Joe Biden’s count jumped about 20,000 while Trumps count suddenly went down 20,000. I think this was Pennsylvania. You can see the you tube. Google something like 20,000 votes switch to Biden on CNN.
We need to pray Jesus will expose the fraud and cheaters will be punished.
How can this prophets still defiant , instead of being humble they still have the guts to be unreasonable. They never mention about God now instead blame the devil of Trump lost and they are sarcastic about Biden winning the presidency. Why are they thinking that God will bow to what they want
