Expose the Pseudo-Religion of the Climate Apostles with True Scientific Debate Following the UN climate summit of Sept. 23, the radi- cal branch of the climate lobby on the street level known as Extinction Rebellion launched a two-week mobilization as of Oct. 7, aimed at disrupting activities in some 60 cities around the world to “save the planet”. The organization founded in Great Britain is demanding that greenhouse gas emissions be reduced to zero (!) by 2025.
In contrast, the Schiller Institute is organizing action days around the world on Oct. 10-15 to expose the ecofascist agen- da of both the international banking and hedge fund lobby pushing “green investments” and the irrational apocalyptic cults predicting an imminent “end of the world” if nothing is done to reduce carbon emissions.
The SI mobilization features a leaflet by Helga Zepp-La- Rouche calling for “a scientific renaissance of humanity and the exoneration of Lyndon LaRouche”. It states:
“There is no climate emergency. The climate data of the past 500 million years show that the Earth’s climate has varied con- tinuously, with a constant alternation between warm and cold periods. (The last of those cold periods only ended in 1850 with the Little Ice Age.) The climate alarmists of today can- not base themselves on scientifically verifiable facts, but use climate models whose predictions have already proved to be exaggerated. The failure of these models underscores the fact that the climate is a highly complex subject, that must urgently be put back on a scientific basis. While anthropogenic activities have a limited effect on the climate, to ignore — as the IPCC does — the profound impact of processes in the Sun and in our galaxy is the height of scientific incompetence!
“The demonization of CO2 and the resulting goal of decar- bonizing the world economy are just as rational as burning witches at the stake as a remedy for disease. CO2 is not a pol- lutant, but is an indispensable condition for life on earth, and in particular for the flourishing of plants and agriculture as the basis of human existence. The real emergency is the decarbon- ization of the global economy pushed by the financial sector, which would lead to a collapse of the industrialized countries, the destruction of the developing world, and massive, global population reduction, that is, genocide.”
The real issue behind the climate hysteria orchestrated by
the financial sector and the mainstream media is the fact that the “neo-liberal financial system is absolutely finished”, the leaflet warns, and the “green economy” is supposed to pump up a new bubble to keep the speculative orgy going.
Most people “trapped in neo-liberal ideology” have been led to believe that it is perfectly normal for “a small layer of rich people to become ever richer, while the majority grows ever poorer; that Africa should remain underdeveloped forever; that in any case, every human being is a parasite who pol- lutes the environment; and that the limits of growth have been reached.”
“However, from the standpoint of the laws of the universe and the evolution of humanity that they determine, these axi- oms are just as wrong as most of the assumptions of the Mid- dle Ages, such as scholasticism, witchcraft, or flagellation.”
Therefore, it is urgent to change our entire way of thinking. “We need to find a point of reference from which we can re- appraise all our assumptions about mankind and the universe we inhabit, and examine their validity. This point of reference is space research and space travel.” This new way of think- ing “must reject the pseudo-religions of bankers, mainstream media and climate apostles, and replace them with a scientific debate about experimentally verifiable facts.”

Lunacy of Green Fascism Exposed in Swiftian Prank in New York An intervention at a town meeting on Oct. 3 in New York City sponsored by the first-term Democratic Congresswoman Alex- andria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC), a poster girl of the “Green New Deal”, provided proof as to why it is accurate to call her poli- cies and her movement “eco-fascist.” A young woman stood up before the crowd and stated, in a voice of urgent dismay, “We’re not going to be here for much longer, because of the climate crisis.” Cameras and microphones closed in quickly, eager to catch the unfolding drama.
“We only have a few months left,” she stated. “I love that you support the Green Deal, but it’s not gonna get rid of fossil fuel. It’s not going to solve the problem fast enough. A Swed- ish professor said we can eat dead people, but it’s not fast
enough! So, I think your next campaign slogan needs to be this: We’ve got to start eating babies.”
The woman, in fact an organizer from the LaRouche Politi- cal Action Committee, then removed her jacket to show her T-shirt with the phrase “Save the planet! Eat the Children.” Turning to the audience, she continued, “We don’t have enough time. There’s too much CO2. All of you! You’re a pollutant... We have to start now. Please you are so great [addressing Ocasio-Cortez]. I’m so happy that you are supporting a Green New Deal, but it’s not enough. Even if we were to bomb Rus- sia, it’s not enough. There’s too many people, too much pollu- tion. So, we have to get rid of the babies. That’s a big problem. Just stopping having babies just isn’t enough. We need to eat the babies. This is very serious. Please give a response.”
Believe it or not, AOC listened intently throughout, mak- ing no attempt to interrupt or stop the organizer. She then responded, as though to reassure one of her supporters, that “one of the things that’s very important to us is that we need to treat the climate crisis with the urgency that it does pres- ent. Luckily, we have more than a few months.” She went on to say that “there are a lot of solutions” available that can be pursued.
The video of the encounter went viral, with over 4 million views within a few hours, and basically all the coverage pre- sented it as a serious (albeit extreme) proposal by a concerned young woman.
Astute observers noted that not once did AOC say, “Eat ba- bies, that’s crazy”. Instead, she reacted as though she un- derstood the appeal! AOC is one of the Green fanatics who repeats the unscientific nonsense that the world will boil over in 12 years unless there is a drastic reduction of CO2 output. She has questioned, along with other “co-thinkers”. whether young women should have children at all, given their negative impact on the environment.
The same astute observers realized that the LaRouchePAC organizer was taking a page from satirist Jonathan Swift, who ridiculed the population reduction fanatics in his day with his Modest Proposal, urging that wealthy people buy and eat the babies of the poor Irish, to protect scarce resources. AOC missed the Swiftian satire, perhaps out of ignorance -- or per- haps, out of sympathy with the proposal!

Central Banks Still Blind to Coming Collapse As expected, the interbanking market has not resuscitated and the Federal Reserve has stretched the deadline of its daily li- quidity injections to Nov. 4, signalling that it is ready to do “whatever it takes” to avoid a meltdown. That means more drugs for the drug-addicted banking system.
It also means venturing further into the negative rates zone, as the head of Unicredit and of the European Banking Fed- eration (EBF), Jean-Pierre Mustier, urged on Oct. 3. Banks should make sure they are passing low and negative interest rates on to their clients, he said, so that central bank policy is as effective as possible. That, in turn, will incite families and pension funds to go more and more into high-yield, high-risk investments.
The savings bloodbath is devastating in Germany, where
there is currently no government bond worth investing in. The current negative yield offers are as follows: 2-year: -0.793%; 3-year -0.845%; 5-year: -0.803%; 7-year -0.764%; 10-year -0.593%; 30-year -0.089% As we have often repeated, central banks cannot do otherwise in the cur- rent system. Their only choice is whether to die by insolvency or by hyperinflation.
And yet, Lyndon LaRouche explained very clearly, in his fa- mous 1995 “collapse function” chart, what the problem with the system is and why the only solution is a bankruptcy reor- ganization. The chart (add link) has three curves: on top, a hyperbolic curve showing the growth of global financial as- sets; below, another rising curve showing the growth of mon- etary values that support the first curve; and at the bottom, a third curve representing the growth – or non growth – of the real economy. The gap between the real economy and the financial aggregates is such that a discontinuity is inevitable. The discontinuity will occur if, for instance, central banks stop expanding the second curve. That is what the Fed did with its “quantitative restriction”, which drained away $1.4 tril- lion of bank reserves (cf. SAS 39/19). The situation can only be brought to normality by re-establishing a correspondence among the three curves.
That would require canceling the value of quadrillions of dollars of financial aggregates, derivatives and similar instru- ments, which have no relation to real values. Lyndon LaRouche outlined the four crucial steps for launching an economic re- covery: 1) separate commercial banks from investment banks 2) establish a bank for national development credit; 3) launch large scale public investments based on high-density energy flux; 4) fund research in fusion technology and space explora- tion as a science-driver.
When LaRouche published his “collapse function”, he ex- posed the system as bankrupt. And yet, despite the evidence of the 2008 financial crisis, central banks and financial institu- tions refuse to see that the current paralysis of the interbank- ing market is a new symptom of that same bankruptcy. Exem- plary of the general incompetence is a paper issued Oct. 5 by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), in which the second largest professional services firm in the world wrote that “The causes of this disruption are not fully understood”.
What China Has Achieved in 70 Years Is Cause for Celebration The 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China has been the occasion of unprecedented celebrations throughout the country. In a difficult international climate, where China is increasingly presented negatively in Western media and by many of the Western political elites, the message was that the PRC has now become a major power and will continue on its chosen path, as President Xi Jinping stressed.
Unfortunately, much of the coverage of the anniversary was overshadowed by reports on the so-called rebellion in Hong Kong, which has been openly fomented and financed by Western circles, as we have reported. While one should not underestimate the huge challenges still

to be met in the vast country, nor ignore those periods of se- vere decadence over the past 70 years, the achievements have been truly remarkable, in particular in the past 30 years. The Belt and Road Initiative, launched by Xi Jinping in 2013, has added a whole new international dimension to the dynamic.
A review of a few essential facts and figures reflects the transformation.
* Seventy years ago, the Chinese economy represented about 1% of worldwide GDP, today, it accounts for 18%.
* In 1949, life expectancy was 35 years against 77% today; 80% of the population was illiterate against nearly 0% today (the school enrollment rate is an impressive 98.9%).
* The poverty rate, according to the World Bank, decreased from 95% to only 3%.
* 90% of the population were poor peasants, whereas 400 million Chinese belong to the middle class today.
* China is the number one exporting nation in the world, and its manufacturing value-added is nearly twice as large as the that of the US, and 4 times that of Japan.
* Its high technology sector, currently at 28%, is expected to overtake that of the US in 2020.
* In terms of high speed rail, its network already covers 30,000 km and should reach 40,000 soon.
* Very importantly for the future, China is the world leader in university graduates in science, technology and engineering, with four times more than the United States already today.
* China’s space program has made stupendous progress over the past 30 years, including being the first to land a rover on the far side of the Moon.
Ideologues of the neo-liberal financial system now dominant in the West screech that the Chinese are about to “take over the world” and impose their system “on us”. But that is truly a false dilemma. China’s leaders insist that their model of “so- cialism with Chinese characteristics” is not for export, and not a precondition for mutually advantageous relations, but they have repeatedly offered to share the benefits with whatever countries choose to cooperate with it. It’s now up to the trans- Atlantic world to return to its own tradition of economic de- velopment and classical culture.
Impeachment Drive against Trump Aims to Disrupt His Diplomatic Initiatives As Democratic Party leaders in the U.S. House of Representa- tives are racing ahead to impeach Donald Trump, the President tweeted on October 1, “As I learn more and more each day, I am coming to the conclusion that what is taking place is not an impeachment, it is a coup.”
One might expect that such a statement from the President of the United States would merit a thorough examination by media. Yet, in the dank anti-Trump swamp of the mainstream media in the trans-Atlantic world, his comment was either ig- nored, or ridiculed as proof that he is unbalanced. This is especially remarkable, as each day, there is a growing body of evidence which proves his point. In fact, the rush to judgement by House Democrats is in part designed to blunt the effect of the investigations underway, under the direction of Attorney General Barr, into the origins of Russiagate.
It was Trump’s request to the President of Ukraine Zelensky that he look into the role of then Vice President Joe Biden in attempting to cover up the corruption of his son Hunter Biden in Ukraine which triggered the latest impeachment frenzy.
But the revelations on that months-old telephone conversa- tion were leaked just as the Inspector General Horowitz of the US Justice Department (DOJ) was preparing a report on the corruption of the FISA process, to be turned over to William Barr for review.
It is expected that this report will confirm that former FBI Director Comey, his allies in the DOJ, and his underlings in the FBI minimally engaged in fraud, in their use of former MI6 agent Christopher Steele’s fake dossier on Donald Trump, to obtain a warrant to spy on his campaign.
Further, Barr and prosecutor John Durham were in Rome to look into possible Italian involvement in the likely CIA/FBI/ MI6 “sting operation” of Josef Mifsud. The latter planted the idea of Russian hacking with an operative of the Trump cam- paign operative George Papadopoulos, who was later coerced to accept a plea agreement with special counsel Robert Muel- ler. Durham’s team has also been in London, following up leads involving Steele. These investigations target leading officials in British intelligence, their “Five-Eyes” allies in Australia, the Ukrainian regime change coup plotters in the Obama Adminis- tration (headed by Joe Biden), and the corrupt Renzi govern- ment in Italy, for their collusion in fabricating the anti-Trump story behind Russiagate.
As Trump said in an impromptu press conference on Oct. 6, he doesn’t understand why there is so much focus on his call for an investigation in Ukraine, which played a role in launch- ing Russiagate. After all, he said, several foreign governments were involved in the investigations of him. He stated that those attacking him have been involved in much worse collu- sion with foreign governments, and they are now afraid they will be exposed.
Beyond the media hype, the main reason the present im- peachment push was launched was to distract the US Presi- dent and tie his hands, at a crucial moment in dealing with real crises involving North Korea, Iran and China, in particular.
Warning: When an Impeachment Process Serves to Launch a Strategic Crisis The preoccupation of the Trump administration with the pho- ny impeachment drive might well embolden a third party to launch an operation that could turn into a major strategic cri- sis. There are many such potential crisis points in the world to- day, including the ongoing tensions between two nuclear pow- ers Pakistan and India over the disputed territory of Kashmir, which could also drag in neighboring China, or a flare-up of the Iran-Saudi Arabia conflict, or even a nasty Brexit process. But above all is the looming financial crash. In all these crisis, the positive role that the President of the United States could play to defuse them could be sabotaged by the drive for im- peachment.
That was also the assessment of a senior diplomatic source with whom we spoke, who gave the example of the Cyprus crisis that occurred in 1974 at the height of the Watergate scandal which culminated in the resignation of US President Richard Nixon on Aug. 9 of that year.
The Cyprus crisis began on July 15, 1974, with the over- throw of the President of the country, Archbishop Makarios, by Nikos Sampson, apparently under the direction of the mili- tary junta that ruled Greece at the time. That served as the perfect pretext for Turkey to invade the island, which it did on July 20, eventually occupying one third of its territory on the

justification that as a “guarantor” of the Peace on the Island, it had the right to “restore” the peace with military force.
During that time, the Watergate scandal had de facto para- lyzed any action by President Nixon, who left it up to this Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, acting together with the British Foreign Office to deal with the crisis, which they had in fact engineered. While the latter kept up the pretense of trying to solve the conflict, they made no credible threat to Turkey until it had occupied one third of the Island.
The division of the island had been a long term desire, if not an intention, of the British as a “solution” to the inter-commu- nal conflict between Greek and Turkish Cypriots, which would allow them to assure the security of their two military bases, one in the Greek zone and the other in the Turkish zone. The conflict led to thousands of casualties, both military and ci- vilian, and massive ethnic cleansing. More then four decades later, the island remains divided.
Ukraine: Fascists Again Take to the Streets to Protest Conflict Resolution Indications have come over the past weeks of steps to re- solve the conflict in Eastern Ukraine, and to improve, however timidly, relations between Moscow and Kiev. For one thing, in the recently released telephone discussion between President Trump and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky that took place on July 25, the US President repeatedly suggests that Zelensky should work things out with Russian President Putin. Then, on Oct. 1, representatives of the Contact Group on Ukraine signed an agreement on the peace plan known as “the Steinmeier formula”. That plan, proposed by then German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in 2016, provides for free and fair local elections in the southeast (Donbas) and for a new law to be passed granting the region a special status.
In addition, an agreement on the separation of forces in the southeastern regions of Ukraine could be signed in the near fu- ture, according to a statement by the self-proclaimed Foreign Minister of the Donetsk People’s Republic Natalia Nikonorova. President Zelensky for his part announced that the new law on the status of Donbas would be prepared soon, to come into effect after local elections are held in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
Russian media have given rather positive coverage to these openings. However, the Progressive Socialst Party of Ukraine (PSPU), chaired by Natalia Vitrenko, a long-time associate of the Schiller Institute, remains skeptical. In a commentary on Vitrenko.org, dated Oct. 3, PSPU analyst Victor Silenko writes that although Zelensky promised to include the Steinmeier formula in the new draft of a Law on the Donbass, he also underscored that the elections will take place “only after the withdrawal of the non-existent ‘Russian troops’ and the re- establishment of control over the state border with Russia”. That shows, Silenko concludes, that he is not serious in pursu- ing the peace process.
In addition, as Natalia Vitrenko stressed to us, the govern- ment fears the backlash from “the street”, where the situa- tion is highly tense. Indeed, just hours after Zelensky signed the agreement on Oct. 1, Ukraine’s extreme right and neo- Nazis elements, including Bandera marchers and Azov Brigade fascists, took their torchlights and banners to Kiev’s Maidan Square, to denounce the “capitulation”, and attempt to ignite
a new crisis. Their protest was supported by former President Poroshenko.
What’s more, Vitrenko pointed out, the Supreme Rada voted up on Oct. 4 the government’s five-year program, which con- tains nothing about funding the reconstruction of the Donbass, which if one were serious about a peace settlement would have to be a top priority. However, it did contain points on the path to NATO membership, support for the Euromaidan coup, and the need to defend Ukraine against “Russian aggression”.
New German-Made Maglev System to Enter Chinese Market Chinese engineers have been engaged in spectacular develop- ments of super-fast maglev trains for long distances, as well as slower systems for transport inside urban regions. Just re- cently, testing began on a maglev designed to achieve speeds of 600 km/h and beyond to connect major urban regions, and covering distances of up to 1,000 kilometers.
It was in 2002 that China’s very first maglev train began running in Shanghai on a 30 km track to the airport, using the German-made technology of the “Transrapid”. But in Ger- many itself, no project was ever implemented, and the only test track was abandoned nearly 10 years ago.
However, research and development of the German system was not abandoned. The firm Max Bögl, the leading construc- tion company for infrastructure projects such as highways and bridges, purchased the patents for the Transrapid track and has worked on transforming the maglev technology for future use in densely-populated regions. The firm operates its own testing ground in Neumarkt (near Nuremberg), with a team of railway engineers in cooperation with other German firms in that sector such as Siemens and ThyssenKrupp.
The engineers at Max Bögl, for example, developed a special switch, and have focussed on a system in which the propulsion is carried aboard the train itself, unlike the original Transrapid which had it built inside the track. The advantage of this, as Dr. Bert Zamzow, leader of the “Transport System Bögl” (TSB) project explains, is that its its operating costs are 30% lower due to greater efficiency. Booming Asian cities, particularly in China, have shown interest in the TSB, and the company has already signed a cooperation agreement with Chengdu, where it will test the system on a 3.5 km track from 2020 on, for potential future service in China’s large urban centers.
The TSB has been entirely manufactured in Neumarkt, with the components, including the signals systems, being trans- ported to Chengdu by train. The CEO of the firm Johann Bögl said he is thinking of doing more of the maglev work in the context of the Belt and Road Initiative. Max Bögl is already well-positioned to do because of its 20-year cooperation with China on infrastructure projects.
