Coronavirus is spreading like wildfire. But the same interconnectedness that caused it to spread so fast can let us
share solutions, even faster!And those solutions exist! South Korea got the virus under control by undertaking a
simple but brilliant program of mass testing people at risk, isolating and treating them effectively, and perhaps most importantly …
losing no time.
But our countries aren't learning the lessons rapidly enough.
In hours, leaders of the 20 most powerful countries will get on a video call — let’s tell them to urgently launch a global war room effort led by South Korea to spread the solutions rapidly.
Sign and spread this petition -- let’s beat this damn virus:South Korea - lead the G20!Things looked bad in South Korea. Hundreds of cases identified everyday, loved ones dying, doctors and nurses nearly overwhelmed.
But then the whole country came together: companies urgently producing test kits and critical medical supplies, people following public health guidelines to get tested and quarantined when positive, and the government responding quickly and creating transparency and trust.
And
they flattened the curve! Yesterday South Korea saw the lowest number of new cases since the peak last month! And economic activity is rebounding.
Too many countries are still not learning the lessons, but G20 could be the turning point. South Korean leaders are already offering help -- let’s empower them and get other countries on board to launch an unprecedented global effort to get this virus under control.
