Batteries and starters came later! Life was so crappy. Look at watermelons 400+ years ago; How about women? They didn`t even have decent hair shampoo until 100 years ago. And just compare what was considered beautiful in Medieval times with today; No screen wire at the time of the civil war. Flies were a constant problem. In cities, worse. How about outhouses"? Hard to believe people could be so religious in the old days with outhouses. That was LESS than 100 Years ago! No TV until 1950`s. People read books. Shallow hand dug wells and "cesspools"s were unsafe early 1950`s. Telephones; 1890`s. Electric power, later. Lawnmowers were PUSH type until 1950! Well, atleast you got some exercise!
