Saudi Arabia stones women to death for adultery, and just bombed a busload of kids on their way to summer camp in Yemen. They're doing this, and *so much more*, yet they're still part of the UN Human Rights Council! Canada just called them out for jailing activists, and got slammed with sanctions for it! Let's get our governments to stand with Canada by expelling Saudi from the UN Human Rights Council -- sign and share widely!

Dear Friends, Saudi Arabia stones women to death for adultery, brutally whips and jails peaceful activists, and just bombed a busload of kids on their way to summer camp in Yemen. They’re doing this, and *so much more*, yet they are still a part of the UN Human Rights Council! Now Canada's just called out Saudi's latest jailing of women activists, so Saudi slammed them with sanctions. It's totally outrageous, but it's Saudi's best defense: make an "example" of anyone who dares stand up to them.
Canada was brave enough to fight back, and now our governments should back them by expelling Saudi Arabia from the UN Human Rights Council. When a million people join, Avaaz will launch a global media blitz making sure every key country hears our call! Tell the UN: expel Saudi Arabia from the Human Rights Council! Here's the craziest part: Saudi Arabia has one of the WORST records for women's rights, and yet they oversee women's rights in the UN Council! This is not a joke. It's a frightening example of how powerful Saudi Arabia is at lobbying their way into positions they don't deserve to improve their image and clout. While it's true that the Human Rights Council isn't the most productive body for cracking down on human rights abuses, it still carries a lot of weight. If Saudi is expelled, it will be an unprecedented move from the Council, and one that will go down in history as a key moment the world stood up to Saudi Arabia. The UN's Human Rights Chief, Zeid Bin Raad is leaving the UN soon and has implored the world to do something about Saudi Arabia's horrific war in Yemen. Giving him massive public backing to expel Saudi from the Council could be one last epic accomplishment before he leaves his position. Let's get a million people to call for this quickly before momentum dies down! Tell the UN: expel Saudi Arabia from the Human Rights Council!
