There are some spots still left - islands of little paradises, not many.
Aberdeen Wa.; A working man`s logging town so right wing in a left wing state! A secret; Aberdeen is probably completely safe from Nuclear War. Add Ashland Oregon. But Ashland is loaded with leftie college students.
Idaho and Nevada; The trick here is to locate close enough to shopping but far enough from crowds. Forget Las Vegas, Reno, Boise, Salt Lake.
Nevada has 138 Ghost Towns! So if you can rough it here in the wild west, you can find an unpopulated nich. Here again - close enough to shopping? A real problem. i.e.; Beowawe is a semi Ghost Town but barely close enough to Elko or Battle Mountain.
I live near Elko Nevada; One of those paradises. The problem here is enough houses. But if you are willing to buy a trash - junk mobile home on acreage, you can later build what you want. Everything here is perfect except the weather. At 5,250 elevation we can get cold and hot extremes. But that keeps the homeless away. Ely is at 7,000 ft. so more snow and cold. Caliente and Tonopah; again the shopping problem. Goldfield; another ghost town with pop. 300 or so. 73 miles from Las Vegas? Long way to go for groceries.
