About This Event

Greece’s economy is on the rebound. Once at the center of the European debt crisis, Greece’s economy is growing at twice the eurozone average, its unemployment rate is down, wages and pensions have risen, and the country is even paying back its bailout loans ahead of schedule. Now several months into his second term, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has overseen many of the structural reforms and austerity measures that have contributed to Greece’s economic turnaround. The Mitsotakis government has also made Greece a key ally for the United States on several fronts – from supporting Ukraine, to energy diplomacy, to stabilizing the Western Balkans and Eastern Mediterranean.

Join the Council for a conversation with Prime Minister Mitsotakis as he discusses Greece’s recent successes and the challenges that lie ahead.
