Subject: Survival Reminder;

Other than quality tools in general, hardly anything provides this level of value today;

Originally welded-up from just scrap - excess steel I had left over from other projects [about1987]. It was to be just a heater for the garage - shop area. For some years it was just a trash burning barrel in the back yard - rusting away.

But after getting a new barrel in 1999, it has provided 14 Years of rock-solid reliability heating my house. Last winter, even coming through with the temperature at night at 18 Degrees Below Zero F.
It burns regular firewood, junk lumber, plywood, particle board, old railroad ties, even the local desert sagebrush.
Some looseness - wear developed in the hinges and latch, so I redrilled them to make "like new" again; Ready to go another 14 YEARS  - If I need it. And the original cost was what? $0-5. for a barrel? $10. in welding rods? $10. in scrap steel?

For about $50. - $60. now, you can just buy the ready-made kit. [2 photos;].
Survival conditions;  There is no excuse for being without heat, drinking unsafe water, or unable to cook food without electricity. L.
