Because of modern finishes that dry hard in 3 hours or less, you can actually paint your car or truck in your back yard! So what is involved? Sanding down the vehicle takes time, with 400grit wet and dry. - Do it wet. Take the time to mask it off well - windows, lights and stuff. You`ll rent a compressor and spray gun if you don`t own one. Make absolutely sure the spay pattern from the gun is correct - very important! Pick mornings with no wind and warm temps. And away you go! Professional automotive paint supplies are expensive; i.e.; $400. for paint, reducer and activator. Follow instructions. Wear a face mask. #1. paint half way done. I got tired of it! #2. sanded, masked off, primed and sanded again. Painted it right there. #3 Thank God it`s done! A rough old derelict with lots of body parts replaced, to make it look good again. #4. Trick was to find old truck beds good enough to salvage and make nice. 4 Attachments
