[Denninger does the math; WOW! Dat Nigga and da "system" really go`in to get Ya!]

It's been quite amusing to watch young people sit and play the "I love Obama" game, then responding with la-la-la-la when I and others point out to them that all the free **** cannot actually happen -- the promises made are and have been lies.

Well?

(Cornell) Students who do not opt in to the $2,352 per year plan must pay the $350 fee, which “most likely” won’t be covered by financial aid, according to campus newspaper The Cornell Review. The newspaper also said the university plan is run through Aetna, whose CEO, Mark Bertolini, is a Cornell MBA grad. In addition the fee, students will have to pay a $10 co-pay fee when visiting the school’s health center.

$2,352 annually for young people?  Are they nuts?  What the hell are these people smoking?

Look folks, absent this sort of coercive environment you ought to be able to buy verygood health insurance as a young, healthy, 20 year old for under $100/month.  That they want roughly double that is******to start with.  But now, if that's not enough, if you don't need it because you've got coverage elsewhere (like, for instance, the Obama administration's attempt to keep you from deciding you've had enough and would thus like to revolt) by "allowing" you to stay on your parent's policy until you're 26 (which I'll get to in a minutethe school now wants to fine you for that choice!

Welcome to screw you America!

PS: For many young people it is not to your advantage to stay on your parent's insurance, especially if you don't make much money.  Specifically, if you qualify for Medicaid your cost is zero, and if you have little or no income and yet are an adult you do qualify.  Now granted, Medicaid isn't great, but if you'd otherwise go with nothing why not have the Medicaid coverage for free instead?
