Dear friends, | This is brutal -- a 12-year old Yanomami Indigenous girl was allegedly raped to death by illegal miners creating a massive outrage in Brazil!
The guardians of the Amazon rainforest are being slaughtered in daylight -- right now, at least 20,000 illegal miners are camped inside Yanomami lands! Their ruthless gold rush have gutted the forest, poisoned the water and the fish, and waged a war against Indigenous peoples.
World leaders have yet to recognize the urgency and scale of this humanitarian crisis -- but if they do, it could finally put Yanomami plea for help in the top of the human rights agenda, shaming the Brazilian government into action.

| Years ago, campaign and human rights groups were successful in calling the world's attention on the blood diamonds that devasted communities across Africa, forcing countries and corporations to clean their act. Now, Indigenous peoples across the Amazon are fighting the battle for their lives, and for the rainforest, against a senseless gold rush that, once gain, is driven by greedy international interests.
After the young girl was killed, members of her community went deeper into the forest to find safety and protect their children. But the forest that protected them for generations cannot resist if this gold rush continues.
